One of the most beloved prairie grasses due to its unique characteristics. The dense tufts of leaves stem from a center point and create an image of a fountain as they hang over the circumference of the main stalk. Found in mesic areas as well as reaching into drier areas, Prairie Dropseed adds a sweet aroma to the air when in bloom during the late summer. Does not come up well from seed.
