This plant from the Buttercup family makes a great cover. It stands about 2 feet tall at the most and produces a dense mat of individual plants which consist of a whorl of long-stalked star-shaped leaves. Each plant will produce multiple flower stalks which look like a sea of white when blooming in spring. Thrives in mesic areas from moist prairies to swales, where it associates with Wild Garlic, Shooting Star, and Little Bluestem. It is known to attract pollinators.
