Field Pussytoes is a diminutive plant of about four inches height with velvety basal foliage. The small clusters of white flowers appear in April and resemble its common name. Spreading by seed and stolons, Field Pussytoes prefers prairie situations with dry to mesic soils. A great plant for the front of the border or the miniature garden, it is also a host species for Painted Lady butterflies.
