A large clumping perennial with pinnately compound leaves, Canadian Milk Vetch reaches about three feet high and prefers prairie to savanna situations in mesic soils. Pretty ornamental flower spikes filled with creamy yellow pea-like flowers appear beginning in June. The seeds are occasionally consumed by wild turkeys and other game birds.
