Golden-fruited Sedge is found in mesic prairies. It has dark green foliage and spreads through short rhizomes. Once the seed heads are mature, they take on a bright orange color and look like a clump of beads. This sedge is found with Calamagrostis canadensis, Eutrochium maculatum, and Veronia fasiculata.
