Copper-shouldered Oval Sedge or Bicknell's Sedge

This sedge tolerates mesic to dry conditions. Standing at 2 and a half feet tall at the most, Bicknell’s Sedge has a triangular stem and around 3-6 spikelets on its inflorescence. A more widely common sedge, attractive with an upright appearance it is one of the first sedges to set seed in the season that can also serve as a food source for game and songbirds.
