Common Fox Sedge is an adaptable sedge for sun or shade in almost any soil. Reaching about three feet, it tends to be sprawling in habit. The loose bristly seedheads turn golden as they mature. Many butterflies, moths and skippers use it as larval food and several species of birds consume the seeds.
