Bugbane is a summer blooming perennial that can be found in rich woodlands. It has a bushy form and serated, trifoliate leaves. It creates variety due to its form and foliage, but also because of its flowers. In summer, waves of thin, white flower adorn the top of the plant. Bees and Ruby-throated Hummingbirds can be found consuming the nectar of the flowers. It can be found with Anemone virginiana, Mitella diphylla, and Viola pubescens.
