Blooming late-summer into fall, and reaching heights of 7′-9′, Tall Coreopsis is a beacon to many bees, wasps, and other pollinators gleaning nectar later in the growing season. The flowers of this perennial are quite distinctive, with a ring of vivid yellow on the outside of the petals and rich brown centers. The flat-topped flower clusters are held above narrow tri-lobed leaves that become quite large at the base of the plant. It is best planted in loose colonies in larger landscapes, and can be aggressive in disturbed soils.
