Illinois Bundle Flower is a perennial that is found dry prairies and ocassionally along rail roads. It has a somewhat bushy habit, and attractive finely textured foliage. In the mid-summer, white pom-pom like flowers appear on it. In the fall, its uniquely clustered seed heads form. It is natively found with Coreopsis lanceolata, Dalea purpurea, and Schizachyrium scoparium. The leaves on this plant move quite a bit, closing during the night, and orienting them to follow the sun during balmy days.
