Geranium maculatum

Wild Geranium

An adaptable perennial wildflower, Wild Geranium boasts clusters of lovely lavender flowers beginning in April for about six weeks. Palmately lobed hairy foliage forms a loose clump and turns red in autumn. A classic woodland plant that tolerates full sun for any garden. The seedpods resemble a crane’s bill and as they dry, the seeds catapult from the parent plant. Beloved by all types of pollinators, a few species of moths choose this as a larval host.
