Hibiscus laevis

Halberdleaf Rosemallow

Halberdleaf Rosemallow is one of our showiest native forbs. Huge six-inch pale pink flowers with deep pink centers bloom beginning in June and continue into late summer. A wetland plant, this rosemallow thrives in prairie situations and does well in sunny rain gardens. It is distinguished from the other native hibiscus by its lobed leaves. Several species of butterflies and moths choose this as a larval host including painted lady butterflies.
