Swamp Rose Mallow adds a brilliant splash of color to native wetlands and rain gardens. Huge six-inch white flowers with reddish purple centers bloom beginning in June and continue into late summer. This rose mallow can be found in prairie and savanna situations and is distinguished from the other native hibiscus by its oval leaves with hairy undersides. Several species of butterflies and moths choose this as a larval host including painted lady butterflies.
