Sweet grass is can be found in moist prairies and wetlands, but will grow nearly anywhere if it has enough sun. It posseses extremely aggressive rhizomes- spreading up to two feet in a year. It has drooping seedheads and broad leaves that are aromatic. An extract from this plant has been used to flavor tobacco, candy, and vodka.
