This forb is commonly found in mesic woodlands. It has attractive lobed foliage that has white spots on the earliest spring leaves. The flowers are clusters of tubular flowers that look like pom poms. They vary in color from white to a lavender.Virginia Waterleaf can become aggressive. It is found with Allium canadense, Phlox divaricata, and Trillium recurvatum.
