This legume can be found in dry to mesic prairies and savannas, and it is quite adaptable to any soil that drains well. It has upright stems that will remain strong well into the winter, providing some interest. The white flowers cluster together to form small heads of flowers and attract a variety of bees and catepillars. Associates with Amorpha canescens, Carex bicknelii, and Oligoneuron rigidum. Game birds are attracted to the seeds of Bush Clover.
