A lovely prairie plant reaching about two feet tall with flower spikes covered in large clusters of violet florets, Northern Blazing Star, flowers later than others, beginning in August. Visited by pollinators of all kinds, this blazing star prefers mesic to dry soils, and is drought tolerant once established. A must for the cottage and butterfly garden, make it a part of your Monarch Recovery Plan.
