Lysimachia quadriflora

Prairie Loosestrife

This loosestrife is found in wet prairies, fens, and bogs, although only in those that have not been disturbed by agriculture or other development. The flowers are a bright yellow and droop slightly. The foliage is thin and a light green color. It is commonly found with Asclepias incarnata, Scirpus atrovirens, and Symphyotrichum novae-angliae in prairies, and with Carex viridula, Solidago patula, and Sporobolus heterolepis in fens. This species is quite attractive to a variety of bees.
