This unique loosestrife is found in high quality wetlands, especially swamps, marshes, and bogs. It grows upright and will occasionally create a clone from its root systems. It has red stems and thin, long leaves. The flowers occur about half way up the plant in tight clusters, giving the effect that someone glued bright yellow pom poms to the stems.
