Hairy Beardtongue gets its common name from its hairy stems. A basal rosette of oblong leaves send up sturdy flower stems with a cluster of large pink tubular flowers beginning in May. Found in almost any situation with wet-mesic to dry soils, it is one of the larval hosts for the Baltimore checkerspot butterfly.
