Great Bur Reed

Great Bur Reed is a wetland forb with bright green swordlike leaves that reaches about four feet high. White powder puff flowers mature into spiky green ball of seeds that are readily consumed by many ducks and other wetland birds. It prefers prairie situations in muddy or sandy soils and will tolerate standing water.
