Quality Statement

We guarantee our plants are true to species, fully rooted, and hydrated upon leaving our nursery.

Plants should be removed from boxes immediately upon arrival to receive proper care. We cannot control the treatment of the plants during transit or guarantee performance beyond the nursery. See Claims

Order Policy & Procedures - Wholesale

Quotes are valid for 30 days. Genetic origin/provenance is available upon request.

  • Inventory is not reserved at time of quote.
  • Prices and availability are confirmed at the time of the order.
  • Deposits may be required to hold inventory.

Minimum order requirement is 2 flats per order. All plugs are sold in single species flats of 32, 50, and 72. Our plugs cell sizes measure as follows:

  • 32 cell flat – 2.5” wide x 3.5” deep, square – 17.09 cubic inch volume per cell
  • 50 cell flat – 2.25” wide x 5” deep, square tapered – 11.9 cubic inch volume per cell
  • 72 cell flat – 1.63” wide x 3.25” deep, round – 4.3 cubic inch volume per cell

Ordering methods include the online shop, email, and phone.

  • Order by plug count (each) in full flat quantities.
  • Please include requested ship date, ship to address, shipping method.
  • If applicable, include a Purchase Order number or job name.
  • Tags, available upon request at 10 cents each (non-refundable once printed).

Order Deadlines

  • Monday 12pm (noon) for parcels & LTL shipments
  • Wednesday 12pm (noon) for pickups & deliveries
  • Lead time for in-stock items is ~1 week, subject to change during peak season.

Order Acknowledgements are sent via email after order has been received with any updates or changes to availability or ship date.

Order Confirmations are sent via email 3 weeks prior to ship date for advanced orders.

Cancellations or changes must be made 2 weeks prior to ship date. Any cancellations or changes after this date are subject to a 25% restocking fee.

Contract Grow requests please reach out to Sales, requires deposit and signed contract.

Sales Tax
Illinois residents must include a 6.25% sales tax on all orders. If the order is tax exempt, please include a copy of your sales tax exemption certificate prior to invoicing.

Payment is due on receipt via check, bank transfer, or credit card (3% processing fee applies). Invoices will be emailed from the accounting department once shipping has been calculated.

Credit Terms are available upon approval of a credit check. Please reach out to Sales for an application. Terms are generally net 30 days unless otherwise negotiated and approved.

Unpaid balances are subject to a finance charge of 2% per month and a credit hold on account.

Rules for Customer Credits:

  1. Customers must contact us no later than 24 hours after receipt of the product
  2. Customers must send photos that show damaged plants/flats with the PNPN label
  3. No refunds will be provided if any apply:
    • the flat is not black, orange, or yellow
    • the flat is not a 50-cell flat or a 32-pot tray
    • the flat is not the appropriate size and species (i.e. ASCINC in a 32 flat)
    • there is netting of any color other than red, yellow, or green
    • plants were damaged during unloading by any non-employee of Pizzo Native Plant Nursery
    • if any plants from the order are PLANTED

Shipping Methods & Details - Wholesale

Delivery methods include:

  • Parcels ship Monday (plus Tuesday/Wednesday during peak season)
  • LTLs ship Monday & Tuesday (Wednesday/Thursday for Canada)
  • Pickups are Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday from 7a-2p (more availability during non-peak season)
  • Pizzo Deliveries are Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday (more availability during non-peak season)

Plants can be delivered year-round but each season comes with various challenges.

  • Dormancy can be expected from Fall into Spring but varies by species.
  • Molds and mildews can occur during transit into humid climates in Spring and Summer.
  • Intense heat waves can dry and damage plants more easily.

Keep your geography and climate in mind when ordering to anticipate any challenges and ensure prompt unboxing and plant care after delivery.

Dormancy Disclaimer
During dormancy the top growth of the plant will die off, allowing plants to conserve their energy and nutrients in their roots. Active growth will resume when favorable conditions begin for the individual plant species. Although we try, we cannot guarantee that every cell has a healthy and thriving plant during this dormancy stage.

Parcel Packing Charges

  • $5.50 per Small Box (1 tray)
  • $8.00 per Large Box (2 trays) will be discontinued in early 2026

LTL Packing Charges

  • $70 per Small Pallet Rack (20-32 trays)
  • $110 per Large Pallet Rack (32-64 trays) will be updated in 2026

Pizzo Delivery Truck
Availability varies during peak season, any discrepancies must be noted on the signed packing list.

  • Within 50 miles = $200.00 USD
  • Every mile over 50 miles = $200 + $3.50/mile

Pickup
No charge for pick up at 10729 Pine Rd Leland, IL. Individuals picking up their order must sign packing list to confirm order is complete and correct. Orders sitting for more than 1 weeks are subject to a 25% holding fee per week during peak season.

Plastic & Pallet Rack Return
At this time, we cannot accept used plastic or pallet racking back.

Shipping is available to the continental US & Canada. Phytosanitary inspection and certificates may be required. Please check with your local USDA service.

All shipping and delivery rates provided are estimates based on current carrier pricing, including fuel surcharges, and are subject to change without prior notice. Small parcel shipping rates will be calculated at the time the order is shipped. LTL shipping rates will be calculated at the time the order is delivered.

Phytosanitary Fee is $200 per shipment. Lead time is 2-3 weeks for inspection.

Claims must be filed in writing within 24 hours of delivery or acceptance. Each claim will be reviewed on an individual basis. For shipments sent through common carrier (UPS, FedEx…) such product cannot be returned with the driver. For claims through parcel carries, photos of box damage and product damage are required. We stand behind our product and will do our best to ensure customer satisfaction. Returns are not accepted. Pizzo Native Plant Nursery liability is limited to the purchase price of the plants.

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program

True to our principles of doing no harm, sincerely pursuing maintenance and restoration of ecological functionality, and striving to provide a consistently better product, Pizzo Native Plant Nursery does not use Neonicotinoid pesticides on any of our crops.

We conscientiously adhere to an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program that relies primarily on preventative maintenance using cultural, mechanical and biological controls.

The pollinator/native plant relationship is critically important in maintaining biodiversity, and thriving, healthy habitats. Beginning with clean, pesticide free seed, our propagation and production practices yield the best quality, ecologically sound, finished product.
