Phlox pilosa

Prairie Phlox

Reaching about two feet high, Prairie Phlox, begins blooming in May with clusters of lightly fragrant pink flowers atop single stems with narrow leaves. It thrives in prairie to savanna situations in wet-mesic to dry soils that are moist with decent drainage. Phlox is pollinated by a variety of bees, but is a favorite of butterflies, moths, and skippers.
