Solomon’s Seal is commonly found in dry-mesic savannas and woodlands. It has plumes of green foliage that turn vivid yellow in the fall. Spring flowers are followed by purple berries that will persist into the late fall. It will form colonies. IT assoicates with Actaea pachypoda, Carex normalis, and Claytonia virginica. It was once thought to help joint problems due its jointed rhizomes.
